This standard version of the Recoheat fits all stoves and is generally the only one you need. All the other versions of the Recoheat are options to make fitting easier. In every case, the coil and output of the units are identical to this standard unit, which we offer in 5", 6", 7" and 8" sizes. All the other variations are only offered in 5" and 6".
The units have a flue height of 75mm and a coil height clearance of 300mm which is the internal height requirement before a bend. They come in black or unpainted stainless steel - please select at checkout.
The system is supplied with an aquarium pump with an air flow rate of 3600 litres per hour (60l/m), 1 metre of heat-resistant black silicone tube, 3 metres of standard tubing, and a silencer to remove the mechanical noise of the pump from the airflow.
This Recoheat Airflow Heat Recovery System is built to fit stove flues with a spigot end. If you are retro-fitting the unit to a stove pipe that does not have a spigot, you will need to purchase the wide-topped version of this.
The Recoheat is a heat pump for wood burners and solid fuel stoves. It significantly increases the heat output of your stove and how long the stove delivers heat for, and reduces your fuel consumption - all at the cost of running the 37-watt air pump - so similar to the cost of a light bulb.
Please check your flue size carefully and select the version for your flue. All measurements are of the internal diameter - select the 5" (125mm), 6" (150mm), 7" (180mm) and 8" (200mm) version as required.

Reviews
We heat our dining room with it, but it then heats the double-storey hall, which then keeps the bedrooms much warmer. It makes such a difference. it heats the room up much quicker too. We have the pump next to the fire and don't notice it. Amazing product.
We are heating and plumbing company and we have just got into solid fuel. This is the first unit that we have bought which I must say I fitted on my own log burner and I find it excellent and I will be recommending this to all our customers.
This is an easy 5 stars for all the standard things like speed of delivery, accurate description on website, customer services, etc. all of which proved faultless.
But the real question for a device like this is does it actually work and live up to the advertising claims? In my case, the answer is a resounding and obvious "yes".
Firstly, the heat distribution within the room is much better. I'm sitting at my desk to the side of the chimney breast typing this review. This is usually the coolest part of the room but this evening it's more comfortable because the whole room is much the same temperature.
Secondly, the room was noticably warmer this morning, having benefitted from the Recoheat unit recovering the heat that would normally have gone up the flue after the fire went out. So another win.
Thirdly, an unexpected benefit. Because I've put the air pump outside I'm getting a constant flow of fresh air into the room (my wood stove is room sealed and draws it's combustion air from outside so I don't otherwise get this). The whole house feels fresher as a result - without needing to open the windows and let the heat escape.
There is some benefit to the heat in other rooms, but the layout of the house means this is quite small. I have a heat transfer system arriving tomorrow to improve this - the Recoheat unit means I have plenty of heat to spare.
So all things considered, I'm a very happy customer.
After damaging my original reco heat, I contacted Will, who kindly replaced my unit free of charge. I can honestly say this is the best customer support I have ever experienced. The new stove is now fitted using a new five-inch flue pipe with a 5-inch to six-inch adapter above the registration plate. The Reco heat unit is now performing a lot better. I have attached a photograph of the new setup.
Will Answered all my questions. I was concerned about a correct fit for the Canadian market. The transformer needed replacing and that was taken care of simply by letting them know the one that was sent was defective. Easy to install and immediately noticed a difference in the amount of wood I needed to burn to maintain a comfortable temp. I already have a blower on my wood stove but with the addition of recoheat, warmth moved further into the cooler areas of the house. I hope this becomes a more adopted accessory to Canadian wood stoves! Love it
