On the 4th September 2025, Recoheat became an HETAS approved product. It's a massive step for the company, and a significant endorsement of the product and of the work we've done with our many wonderful industry partners over the last five years.
A Breakthrough in Solid Fuel Heat Recovery
HETAS has recently added the Recoheat heat recovery system to its list of approved products. For the industry, this is a significant milestone: it marks the arrival of a genuinely new technology that can be safely recommended, installed, and relied upon under the regulated frameworks that govern our sector. For stove owners, it represents a step change in comfort and efficiency that promises to transform how solid fuel heat is experienced throughout the home.

Innovation improving heat transfer from solid fuel stoves
The efficiency and comfort of a modern stove are central to our industry’s reputation, yet many owners continue to struggle with one common challenge: getting their appliance to move heat effectively around the property. A stove may glow warmly in one room while leaving the rest of the house stubbornly cool.
Recoheat has spent the last five years solving precisely that problem. Their unique system, now officially HETAS-approved, offers a simple but ingenious way of increasing the usable heat output of a stove without altering the appliance or compromising the flue.
The physics behind the solution
At the heart of the Recoheat system is a compact pumped-air heat recovery unit, neatly installed at the base of the flue. This device harnesses an aspect of fluid dynamics called the turbulent boundary layer. By drawing heat from the hottest region of the flue gases, it captures a surprising amount of energy without cooling the gases to any measurable degree—ensuring the flue continues to operate exactly as designed.
The recovered energy is channelled as a stream of clean, hot, turbulent air, directed into the room with enough force to stir and mix the air. The result is an immediate and noticeable rise in room temperature, coupled with the creation of convection flows that push warmth out of the stove room and into the wider home. Customers describe the effect as “transformational,” noting not only warmer spaces, heated floor to ceiling, but also reduced fuel consumption as their stoves work more efficiently.
Growing presence in the market
Despite being a relative newcomer, Recoheat has already built a strong following. Independent reviews, customer testimonials, and a lively YouTube channel have documented the system’s impact in real-world homes, creating a growing online community of advocates.
Industry recognition has also been steadily building. Recoheat is a member of the Stove Industry Association (SIA), is associated with all the major chimney sweep associations, and has a UK installer network of more than 170 professionals with a small but expanding roster of retail distributors. For installers, the HETAS approval adds an extra layer of confidence, simplifying conversations with customers and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Looking ahead
With HETAS approval secured, Recoheat is set to make an even bigger impact. For an industry not often disrupted by entirely new technologies, this innovation offers an exciting opportunity to deliver greater comfort, efficiency, and sustainability to stove users nationwide.
